A Double Album:
Part 1 – Akoustic – tracks I-X
Part 2 – Elektrik – tracks I-X
Hello. Please listen to Little Animals, I had a lot of fun making it, and hope you might have some fun listening to it. In the interest of completionism, and because it’s difficult to find proper album credits in the digital age, I’ll write some stuff here.
You can also find this album online at the Spotify/Deezer-type things, and if you listen to it, thank you – and I’m very curious what you think.
I’ve set up a bandcamp page where you can download whatever music you’d like – and name your price – if you like what you hear and want to buy me a drink. You can also download all the sheet music for it (and other compositions). Here it is:

album credits:
Tom Trapp – all music and piano
Vera van der Bie – Violin
Ilse Eijsink – Clarinet
Jur de Vries – Cello
Pieter Smithuijsen – Contrabass
Recorded (Album I – Akoustic) by Paul Pouwer
Mastered by Marc Broer
So this piece originated when Vera van der Bie (the violinist, who also has an amazing Quartet Quinetique and the West Side Trio) asked me to write a piece for her Master’s Recital. That became what is on Album 1 – Akoustic as tracks 1,2 and 10. Then I got the bright idea to expand it to 50 minutes. Then I got the bright idea to make electronic music based on the acoustic quintet, sampling it. That’s album 2 – Elektrik – nice.
I’m exceptionally proud of everyone’s playing on this album (except the piano player) and really dig the contrasting CD 2, although I have yet to meet someone who likes both discs. That’s ok. I’m comfortable with who I am.
